D. Riveted Gratings

Riveted gratings are manufactured by using high-strength rivets. Each rivet is cold pressed using Mechanically and Hydraulically operated riveting tools thereby bonding straight bearing bars to crimped rectangular flat bars. Advantages of riveted gratings are superior resistance to impact, fatigue, and repetitive loads. When compared to welded type grating, these gratings can provide a greater load capacity for the equivalent span and depth.
